Pretty good story...

This was a good read. It started out really good in letting us know that no matter how much we love God and want to be our best for Him we are still human and make mistakes. No marriage is perfect, simply because two imperfect people are molding together with the goal of becoming one. I like the reality of the story in that the author lets us know there are no fairytales. I started getting disappointed toward the end, it sort of gets corny and predictable.

Awesome Book

I did not want this book to end. Yes, Derrick had some issues in the beginning. Stacey did try hard at first to help him and be a good wife and he pushed her way and I know that had to be hard, but like her mother pleaded with her to do was hang in there. Boy oh boy I know she was glad that she did not divorce him. How do I wish God could send me the ending Derrick...lol

The Holy Spirit Will Bring you to All Truth...

If you ask the question which author writes stories of redemption and reconciliation I would undoubtedly say Wanda Campbell. She has taken on issues in her novels such as absentee parents, old hurts, abuse, death, alcoholism, bigger than life secrets and a pastor addicted to pornography.
Many human conditions separate us from God, but it's His love that comes right in and bathes us in His grace.
How is it that a fairytale can begin as one and move forward in the same way, but somehow become weaved with issues?
Stacelyn and Derrick Garrison met in college through friends, they believed they were made for one another and both had a relationship with God. But life's challenges and their busyness pushed God further and further down the list. In relationships we have to learn to wait for one another, and we have to wait on God before we get married, a lesson Staci and Derrick quickly find important.
Derrick's insecurities, secrets and emotional instability cause him to walk away from the women he loves and their marriage just 18 months to a year old. Staci loves her husband and wants nothing more than to understand what is going on with him, but instead of sharing; Derrick retreats into himself, and makes the worse decision of his life and his past and the root of his issues meet head on.
Staci continues to try and support her husband but once he moves out all of her insecurities unfold and she begins to spend her time with Malcolm to mend an aching hurt and bruised ego. But as we all know if you are going to pray why worry? Staci would have done well if she had paid into that advice. She prayed and worried and then she just worried and pushed God right out the picture, when she needed Him the most. Instead of waiting for Derrick she moved without him, instead of heeding to Gods voice she pushed it away. Until finally she has no choice but to listen, God finally has her attention.

I enjoy how Campbell introduce her readers to flawed characters in need of God's grace. The redemption happens so naturally all the reader can do is sit back and enjoy the transformation.

Whenever I finish reading a Campbell novel I am drenched in Psalm 34:8 "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him".

From One Demon Writer to Another--Brava!

I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel at GCLS this year. She had horns, fangs, was...oh wait...I think we agreed to keep that part a secret. Anyway, we both write demon books, not because we are, but because there is something uber sexy about a woman who will risk her life in the fighting of them. She has sexy down pat in this sequel to The Demon Abraxas. In this twisting and turning adventure we get a chance to know witch, Sabel Young and Ana Khoury, who is possessed by Abraxas, a demon who is a bit bossy, opinionated, and very powerful.

As someone who writes in this genre, I am very particular about the research done in regards to possessions, demons, and witches, and I can safely say that Calish has done her job well in taking what we think we know and creating viable and realistic characters and weaving them into a plot that is fast-paced and entertaining. Her world building skills are excellent, so if you are a reader who wants to fall into the magical realm, Calish has written a series that propels the reader into the magical, the mystical, and the mystery that is the demonic world.

Whether or not I had met her in person, I'd be giving this 5 stars because her demonology,witchcraft, and world building knowledge are outstanding and THAT is what I am looking for whenever I pick up books in this genre. From one demon writer to another, I say "Bravo, Rachel! Carry on!"

Witches, demons, Gods and Goddess, oh my!

This book is a sequel to The Demon Abraxas. Author Rachel Calish has once again done a brilliant job of building "the unseen world". It features Sabel Young, a witch and professor, and Ana Khoury, who Abraxas is "staying with". There are many twists and turns in this story, including a visit to South Dakota for the funeral of Ana's father where she must spend time with her brother who tormented her as a child and tried to rape her as a teen. Once the funeral is over, Ana, Sabel, Lily and her daughter Gabriella, must try to get safely back to San Francisco.
The Demon Gabriella is a good read with well developed characters and back story. Between the demons, Gods, and Goddesses, readers can enjoy the read, and only hope that it's fiction!

Fantastic BWWM Romance Story

This story had all the best aspects of any good romance. It had a little love, a little heartbreak, some drama, steamy love scenes, but most of all it was about forgiveness and how the power of love overcomes all to bring people together. I just wish the author would write longer stories as I felt the ending was a little abrupt and there could have been a few more chapters to tie everything up. The characters were also portrayed very realistically and I though the dialogue as well was well written. Nice Romance!

Don't give up on love

I wanted to give 4 stars but the book seemed as if it was unfinished. First, Julian and his father should have had a face to face for what he did to Dior and actually when Julian Sr. Came to visit Dior she said they had previously met. Well no where in the book did that come out. Also, why not do an epilogue that could of answered a lot of questions. The story was to short and rushed. It could of been a great story.

Anyone who likes fairies, angels, gothic art or any type of fantasy art in general would love this book! Not only are the drawings so real and beautiful, there is poetry type of writing. It's not a book you would read with a plot. The writings go along with the art and spin a magical world. Especially for people who don't like reading full stories, I think this would be great to look at and read after a stress filled day. It will take you out of reality for a while and make you appreciate the mysteries of life. All 3 of Chris Ortega's books are unique and I'm very happy I found them.
