2-for-1! How can you go wrong?

I picked this up for next to nothing from Amazon. Hardcover, clean and undamaged dust cover, two novels in one... My other investments should be so good!
I am rapidly becoming a Harlan Coben fan. Myron Bolivar is also becoming one of my favorite investigators, even if he is really a sports agent. Like Block's Matt Scudder, he has an uncanny ear for New York City and environs. Like Connelly's Harry Bosch, he has a bow-legged sense of morality which somehow straightens out. Like Lehane's Patrick and Angie, he has a psycho, efficient, Bubba-like sidekick in Windsor Lockhorn.
What sets Myron apart, though, is his very quick, machine-gun rapid wit and pop culture fixation. His references to pop music, Broadway musicals and old TV shows are prolific. For crying out loud, "Drop Shot" begins with Myron and Windsor holding a Batman trivia game (the Adam West Batman--"the real one", as Myron points out). What sets Coben apart from other mystery writers is this humor. You will actually laugh out loud, at times, even at the most suspenseful moments. I don't know how he does that. Both these books are satisfying mysteries, and great introductions to the Bolitar series.

Deal Breaker

Easily one of my favorite authors and these first two books of his set the stage for the others following. If you are not familiar with Harlan Coben check out the library and get a book or two with the character Myron Bolitar in it. If you like what your reading I recommend buying this book. Or just buy it anyway. The book itself was in great condition and arrived faster than I had expected.
